About Brazosport Fishing Guide
Why this site exists
Brazosport Fishing Guide is an independent local resource for finding and vetting fishing guides and charters in Freeport, Surfside Beach, and the surrounding Brazosport area.
We built it because finding a reliable local captain meant digging through scattered reviews, dead listings, and out-of-town directories that didn't know the water. This site keeps the useful information — species, seasons, regulations, spots, and the captains who run the trips — in one place and keeps it current.
We are not a charter operator ourselves, and there's no out-of-state media company behind this. We're an independently run guide that connects anglers with vetted local charter captains.
How we keep this information current
We review listings on a quarterly basis. For each captain featured, we check that:
- The operation is currently running trips and licensed where required
- Contact details and service areas are accurate
- Guides hold a current U.S. Coast Guard captain's license (OUPV or Master) and a Texas Parks & Wildlife Department All-Water Fishing Guide License — the two credentials Texas requires to run paid saltwater trips by boat
If something is out of date, email us and we'll fix it.
How this site makes money
Using Brazosport Fishing Guide is free for anglers, and we never mark up a captain's price. The site is supported by the captains we connect you with: a local operator pays to receive the trip requests we refer to them. That keeps the guide free to read and free to use, with no cost or obligation to you.
